[Dedham, MA—June 9, 2006] -- National Amusements, Inc., a world leader in the motion picture exhibition industry operating more than 1,500 screens in the U.S., U.K., Latin American and Russia, unveiled the first IMAX Theatre in Argentina, the only 3D cinema auditorium of its kind in Argentina. It is also the first, and only IMAX 3D theatre in South America. The theatre, which opened on May 12, 2006, is located in the recently renovated retail-entertainment complex owned by National Amusements, Center Norte, Argentina. Opening IMAX® featured films include Deep Sea 3D in IMAX 3D, T-Rex, The Human Body and Space Station.

The new IMAX auditorium features 383 custom-designed, rocking-recliner seats arranged stadium-style for easy viewing The larger-than-life, crystal clear images are projected onto a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screen, measuring approximately 66 feet tall and 85 feet wide.

The IMAX theatre utilizes IMAX’s 15/70 film format that is ten times larger than conventional 35 mm film and delivers the clearest, brightest and steadiest images in the world. The image is complemented by IMAX’s specially-designed, state-of-the-art digital surround sound system.

IMAX Theatre at Center Norte is the latest addition to National Amusements growing roster of international theatre locations. Currently the company operates 1093 screens in the United States, 243 screens in the United Kingdom, 210 screens in Latin America and 23 screens in Russia with plans for further expansion.
